Quick Start Guide
The Quick Start Guide below should be enough to get you started but
to get the most out of
ev++'s powerful range syntax and hand filters
please see the
equity calculator documentation and
examples.
Please note there are some differences between PokerStoves syntax
and ev++'s syntax, particularly with regards to specifying
suitedness. Please see the
Suits section below for details.

Holdem Quick Start Guide ::
Omaha Quick Start Guide ::
Stud & Draw Quick Start Guide
Single hands
:: To specify a single hand like
A

K

type AhKs
All Combos of a Hand
:: To get all 12 hands including, for example, a 9 and a T, enter T9 without suits.
Pairs
:: Pairs made up of specific cards can be entered like single hands e.g. 4

4

= 4h4s).
:: For all 6 combos of a pair enter the pair without suits e.g. 44 == (4c4d, 4c4h, 4c4s, 4d4h, 4d4s, 4h4s)
Ranges
:; Entering something like A2-A9 will give you all combos in the range of A2 to A9 (e.g. A2-A9 = A2,A3,A4,A5,A6,A7,A8,A9)
:: A2+ can also be used as a short form for A2-AK, K9+ is the same as K9-KQ etc.
:: Likewise, ranges of pairs can be specified like 44-99 ( = 44,55,66,77,88,99) or 55+ (gives all pairs 5 or greater)
Suits
:: To specify suited cards, surround them in square brackets, e.g [AK] will give you all 4 combos of suited AK. This is the same as AKs in PokerStove.
:: To specify off-suit cards, surround ONE of the cards in square brackets, e.g [A]K will give you all 12 combos of offsuit AK. This is the same as AKo in PokerStove.
:: Suited cards of A SPECIFIC SUIT can either be entered directly (e.g. AhKh) or by surrounding them in square brackets followed by the suit, e.g [AK]h.
:: Entering something like [Ah]2 will give you the 3 hands Ah2c, Ah2d, Ah2s, like wise [A]2h would give you Ac2h, Ad2h, As2h. Note that if you want to include Ah2h in this range, use Ah2 (no brackets)
:: Entering something like [A2-A9] will give all suited combos in the range of A2 to A9 (e.g. A2-A9 = [A2], [A3], [A4], [A5], [A6], [A7], [A8], [A9])
:: Similar to above using [A2-A9]h would give only suited hearts. In this case you can also use [A2-A9]o to get all off suite hands in this range.
:: [A2+] can also be used as a short form for [A2-AK], [K9+] is the same as [K9-KQ] etc.
Percentile
:: 10% would give the top 10%
* of hands
:: 10-15% would give the top 10-15% of hands
:: 20-20% would give hands in the 20th percentile (i.e. the top 20% of hands minus the top 19% of hands)
::
*Ranking method described by PokerCoder
